THE ARONA FORTRESS
The Borromean Rock of Arona is located just 5 minutes by car from our hotel, it was built in the past for defense and overlooks Lake Maggiore.
It has had several owners but the most important was the last one "The Borromeo Family"
In the 1800s, the Napoleonic army decided to destroy some buildings, including the Rock, in fact today only a few remains are left.
To make this historical building known, the Municipality of Arona decided to organize events hosting some famous musicians.
Today the Rock presents itself as a natural terrace where we find green spaces to relax, a small playground for children, and some animals like goats and donkeys.
In the highest part of the park, we find the "Corte della Rocchetta", a typical bar/restaurant where you can enjoy an aperitif with a lake view and surrounded by nature.
The Rock is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 11:55 PM.
